OK, it's a bit lame and a bit 80s but I love this film and especially this part.
It's funny how people think they know what words mean but actually have no clue.
Reminds me of the whole debate that went on when Alanis Morissette released 'Ironic' which, ironically, had nothing to do with irony...
For better or for worse, this reminds me of when then President of Ireland, Mary Robinson, started talking about the diaspora. Nobody knew what the diaspora was. She started lighting a candle in the window of Aras an Uachtarain (president's residence) for the diaspora. Everyone thought that was lovely. I was a member of the diaspora at the time, and taking courses in post-colonial theory at Purdue but even I wasn't too sure about diaspora. I am now! Am proud member! And I have another confession. MARTIN SHORT IS MY COUSIN. Yes, I kid you not.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I LOVE Martin Short. You lucky, lucky thing. It's a real shame that he's, er, short...I am a bit of a stickler for tall men.
ReplyDeleteMan, i wish I knew what a plethora was...

ReplyDeleteI'm only joking Francisco. It's actually a raincoat.
