Text and Image: Text as Key

This is a book, "Age of Eruption," that I made during a residency last summer. It is unfortunate that, as a am looking for images to post to this, the very one that I need to make my point is missing. I will bring it in on Wednesday if you would like.

So this book is about growth. More specifically about the growth of adolescent teeth. There is very little text (it is basically a table of contents) and it only really makes sense when referencing the images, returning to the ToC and back and forth like so.
I like using text this way, because it fully exploits the format of the book - making the reader physically flip back and forth - something that is very unique to a codex book.

There is also a second narrative that is more of a "printer's narrative" but it is not as relevant for the concerns of our class.

  2. I would like (you to bring in ideal example on Wednesday). I'm also interested in the "printer's narrative." I'm sorry! I like things which present, whether relevant or not. It's a weakness.
